Rev. Melvin Melton

Rev. Melvin Melton is a native of Orlando, Florida. He was born to Dea. James and Geneva Melton. Rev. Melton was saved at an early age at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for a number of years.

Rev. Melton has a convert’s heart and has dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel message, leading the unsaved to Christ, and building up the Kingdom of God. His heart’s desire is knowing Christ in the fullness of His power and His resurrection. Melvin has committed his life to be used by God, and to allow the Holy Spirit to use him to build the Kingdom of God through teaching, counseling, mentoring and making disciples for Christ.

For the past seventeen years he has served as an Associate Minister of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Lilburn, Georgia under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Richard B. Haynes. He currently serves as a Fellowship Cell Pastor and also assists the Senior Pastor in coordinating and conducting monthly baptismal services. Rev. Melton has served in past for a number of years in the Nursing Home Ministry. Currently he ministers the Word of God in the Fulton County Jail Ministry on a monthly basis.

Rev. Melton graduated from Lyman High School (1979) in Longwood, Florida and Carson-Newman College (1984) in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Presently he is a student of the Mt. Moriah Biblical Institute in Tucker, Georgia, a student of the Salem School of Ministry and an instructor/student in the Salem School of the Word. God continues to call him to a higher level of service. Rev. Melton is employed through the Gwinnett County School System as the Facility Director at Norcross High School in Norcross, Georgia. He is married to the former Lisa R. Stewart and they are the parents of two beautiful children, Melvin Jr. and Ashley Helene.
