Our Ministries


Information and descriptions of the Ministries at Salem Missionary Baptist Church.

Angel Food Ministry


Picks up and delivers tasty food baskets donated to the less fortunate as well as to individuals who desire to order baskets. Orders taken on Sunday's after worship service.

Audio/Video Ministry


The Audio/Video Ministry produces and distributes audio and video recordings from worship, concerts, weddings, and other services.

K.I.D.S. Zone


Ministers in a variety of areas to train and educate children. Encourages spiritual growth and study of God's Word in an age-appropriate environment that allows for the development and teaching of proper attitudes and behavior of Christians. Children's ministries also provide nursery care for children, ages 0 to 3, during worship services.

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, It's a Girl's Thing, and It's a Guy's Thing serves girls and boys by motivating them to trust in God, to demonstrate exceptional ethical and moral conduct, to show respect, to have self-confidence, and to be positive examples to the community.

Each of these ministries (Cheerleaders, Joy Leapers, Step Team, and Drill Team provide opportunities for both children and youth to minister during worship services and to serve at other special programs. In an effort to prepare our children and youth as leaders of today, they serve in the Youth Bank.

Christian Education


Christian Education equips members for discipleship and personal ministry through the teaching Bible basics, theology, and Baptist faith doctrine. Provides teaching and learning opportunities through Sunday School (SS), School of the Word (Mid-Week Bible Study), Noonday Bible Study, Vacation Bible School. In addition to Sunday School, opportunities exist for children in Children's Hour of Power (C.H.O.P.) and Ada's Book Basket (reading club for children ages 4-12).

Counseling & Support Ministry


Support based ministry that provides prayer, counseling, and discipleship. Promotes healing and wholeness through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Seeks to fully integrate relationship with Jesus Christ so persons can experience full spiritual and mental health.

Supports and ministers to substance abusers and over comers at any stage of recovery.

Ministers to persons with any type of addiction or stronghold. Ministry focuses on Bringing Recovery Into Dynamic Godly Excellence.

Ministers to caregivers of loved ones with dementia. Offers information on treatment and research, products, and other support services.

Courtesy Guild


The Courtesy Guild meets, greets, and welcomes all visitors and members. Provides weekly announcements during worship services.

D.A.V.I.D. Ministry


Ministry provided by children, youth, and adults in the areas of Drama, Arts, Voice, Instrument, and Dance to minister and illuminate the truth of God's Word using the arts.

Evangelism Ministry


Ministers by guiding lost persons through the conversion experience under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Focuses on soul winning by presenting the Gospel - "Good News" to the community and abroad.

Family Life & Marriage Ministry


Ministers to the distinctive needs of families, focusing on building and strengthening families within the congregation.

Marriage Ministry
Serves as a support ministry for newly married couples. Married couples adopt a newly married couple to develop relationships and share the wisdom and experiences gained in their marriage.

Singles's Ministry
Supports and ministers to singles through fellowship, discipleship, and ministry outreach opportunities.

Intercessory Prayer Ministries


Membership-at-large standing in the gap and interceding in prayer. Believes fully that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective and as such prays for the needs of women, men, families, and the lost and unsaved. Also prays for specific prayer requests to include sick and shut in members and those submitted on the weekly prayer list.

Jail & Prison Ministry


Evangelizes to the lost and ministers to the saved, who are incarcerated, through praise and worship site services or in correspondence. Assists men and women as they transition back into society from prison. Seeks to restore individuals and provide atmosphere for success in every aspect of their lives. Reaches out to children whose parent(s) are incarcerated by providing Christmas gifts during the holiday season.

Minister & Deacon Wives


Provides fellowship venue and an atmosphere for spiritual growth for women chosen as a helpmeet for men called to the preaching ministry.

Works with the Deacon's Ministry to provide enrichment and fulfillment which can inspire, motivate, enlighten, and strengthen the very fabric of the spiritual life of her husband and the congregation he serves.

Mother Board


Provides support to matured women and assists in serving of the Lord's Supper.

Music Ministry


The Music Ministry leads the church to witness and worship through the ministry of music. Provides music for worship experience in congregational services and other requested events.

New Member Orientation Ministry


Meets with new member after joining to complete membership cards and to provide relevant information, to include Baptism and Holy Communion instructions, New Members Orientation class assignment, listing of ministries, and other contact information. Also ensures candidates are prepared for Baptism.

Nursing Home Ministry


Engages in providing a worship experience whereby ministers of Salem proclaim the Word of God. Teaching, singing, and visitation are provided to the infirmed residing in Lilburn Geriatric and Parkwood Manor.

Provides visits to the body of Christ while hospitalized in hopes of bringing encouragement through prayer, cards, flowers, and just the very presence of another sister/brother in Christ.

Pastor’s Aide Ministry


Pastor's Aide aids and assists the Pastor in practical, daily needs.

Safety & Security Ministry


Provides a safe environment for the members, visitors and staff during services, study periods and special events.

Seasoned Saints


Plans ministry activities and social events for seasoned saints. Assists with health care issues and other needs.

Transportation Ministry


Transports persons to and from worship services and other church-sponsored functions.

Usher Ministry


The Usher Ministry greets and escorts worshippers to available seating.

Women’s Minisrty


Core group, which includes all the women of Salem. Provides fellowship, training, and support for all women.

R.E.V.A.M.P.


Ministers to the needs of youth (13-18 years old) by equipping them to be disciples for Christ in their ever day lives. Offers biblical training for encouragement, support, and spiritual growth.
