Rev. Dr. Penny Pitts

In Reverend Dr. Penny R. Pitts is found a standard of excellence and a great compassion for God’s people. She is a ready and willing vessel of the Lord and desires to be used by Him to preach and teach the Word of God! Rev. Pitts has a passion for ensuring the Great Commission (Matt. 28.19-20) is preached and taught throughout the world! Her love for God and His Word is reflected in her dedication and commitment in the Gospel ministry. She truly believes there is transformation power for daily living found only in the Word of God!
Dr. Penny Pitts is the youngest of ten children, seven girls and three boys. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of eight. She joined the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia where she sang in the Adult and Young Adult choirs from an early age until she left to attend college. She also was an avid Bible study student and served in the Young Ladies’ Missions Department.
Dr. Pitts was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on December 12, 1999 and ordained May 21, 2006 from Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Richard B. Haynes. Under the capable leadership of Dr. Haynes, Dr. Pitts served as an Associate Minister, New Members’ Lead Instructor, Minister of Home/Foreign Missions, Christian Education Lead Instructor and Christian Education Board Member. Dr. Pitts currently serves as Fellowship Cell Pastor within the Salem East Fellowship Cell.
Dr. Pitts earned a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree, with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling/ Preaching degree from Luther Rice University & Seminary in Lithonia, GA in May 2015. Her doctoral research is titled “An Investigation into Marital Enrichment Techniques Utilized to Enrich Marriages.” Dr. Pitts also earned from Luther Rice University & Seminary a Master’s degree in Christian Education and Master of Divinity degree in Ministry. Dr. Pitts earned a B.B.A. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from State University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia.
Dr. Pitts worked in the corporate arena as a Financial Analyst and Project Manager for several Fortune 500/1000 companies. Currently, Dr. Pitts is employed as a Senior Project Manager Consultant within the Financial Services/Banking industry. Dr. Pitts’ prior full-time ministry work includes Family Christian Stores, serving as a Customer Service Representative; The Georgia Baptist Foundation, an agency of the Georgia (Southern Baptist) Baptist Convention where she served in Trust Accounting/Client Relations and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Tucker, Georgia, serving as Christian Education Pastor.
